You are cordially invited to the eleventh lecture by Tatjana Rozman, mag., entitled The Question of the Foundation of Being. At the beginning of philosophy, therefore, is the question "What is the foundation of the world?". The question of the foundation of all existence was already developed by the Greeks, and they reached the final limit of the ability of abstract thinking with Aristotle. After that, this area of philosophy remained dormant for almost two millennia. Ontological questions are always at the forefront, but the dominant ideological concept does not allow for further steps in the development of these questions in philosophy, because the topic is very suitable for manipulating various feelings of anxiety within the framework of the ruling ideology of the time.
Key topics:
– Being in Parmenides' philosophy
– Aristotle's definition of the relationship between the general and the particular
– Thinking abstractly (from the dispute over universals in early scholasticism to suprematism in modernism)
– The ontological dimension in the film The Turin Horse
