Dr. Vekoslav Kukovec was a leading political figure among liberals in Slovenian Styria in the last decade before the collapse of the Habsburg monarchy. He was an excellent organizer, a connector of different political options, and an excellent speaker. With the establishment of the State of Slovenia, Slovenia, and Croatia in 1918, he exchanged provincial politics for important positions in state bodies.

Dr. Vlasta Stavbar, a historian and librarian from Maribor, is dedicated to the study of Slovenian political and cultural history in the last period of the Habsburg monarchy and biography.

The conversation with author Vlasto Stavbar will be moderated by Marijan Pušavec and will take place in the Levstik Hall.
