At the second Film Meeting, we will talk to LEON VIDMAR, a creator of puppet animation films who is currently completing his new work SLOVO (produced by ZVVIKS). We will have the opportunity to gain insight into his animated world, from the idea, puppet design, set design, filming, etc. The conversation will be supported by a lot of visual material, which will allow participants to learn about the creation of stop-motion animation and also the great hope of Slovenian animation.
Leon Vidmar graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts and Design (ALUO) in Ljubljana. With his final work, the short animated film (Intolerance), in which he was simultaneously a screenwriter, director, set designer and animator, he first presented himself at the Balkanima festival (2010) and Animateka (2010). He gained additional knowledge through a student exchange at the Academy of Fine Arts in Poland, and participated in many productions of stop-motion animated films in Poland and at home. Here, it is worth highlighting his collaboration with animator Špela Čadež, for whom he animated the puppets for the film
Boles (2013), one of the most successful Slovenian films.
