Once part of the Silk Road, today it is a top destination where something new awaits you around every corner.
Sleeping in yurts under the starry sky, gazing at ancient architecture decorated with oriental mosaics, learning about local culture and traditions, searching for wild camels in the desert, riding horses, learning about the ecological disaster on the Aral Sea, searching for remnants of Soviet modernist architecture in the capital city of Tashkent. A journey that opened our eyes wide. But why is this country still rarely on travelers' travel lists? What are lepioški? What is plov and what is sumi? And why is Uzbekistan blue?
Exploring the country with a rented car allowed us to have genuine contact with the locals, have fun situations, and experience this mysterious country intensely, which only began to successfully open up to tourism a few years ago. We were invited to different worlds, among oriental mosaics and silent witnesses of ancient caravans.
