Programme:
Day 1: Mammals and birds
On the first day, we will learn about animals that are mostly covered with hair, have a constantly warm body, and suck milk at birth. These are mammals. We will pet a small Madagascar tenrec, a dwarf rabbit, and a guinea pig. We will find out how forest animals prepare for winter in the fall. On a walk, we will learn about different types of birds that live in the nearby park and forest. We will recognize the feathers of different bird species and find out how different feathers differ from each other and why birds can fly. We will collect some fruits and make a unique animal from natural materials in the creative studio.
Day 2: Insects, arachnids and centipedes
This day will be dedicated to learning about animals with exoskeletons. We will learn about tarantulas, pet them and hold them in our hands. We will also be interested in insects in the park and animals on the forest floor. Insects also include cockroaches and stick insects, which will also walk on our hands. Do you know the largest centipede in the world? We will also observe this animal and find out how many legs it really has. In the creative hour, we will create paper spiders and insects.
Day 3: Reptiles and amphibians
Reptiles are animals that fascinate people, but some people are afraid of them because they don't know them. Their bodies are covered with horny scales. Do you know the main groups of reptiles? We will get to know some of them together. We will pet turtles, lizards and snakes. We will talk about why reptiles are endangered today and how we can help them survive. We will compare reptiles with amphibians and find out how these two animal groups have adapted to the environment in which they live. We will make a mosaic of a colorful snake or a flexible gecko.
