The play is based on the fairy tale by Danish writer HC Andersen. The main character is an ugly duckling (actually a swan), who hatches in a duck's nest, but because he is different from the other ducklings, he is immediately labeled ugly. The motif of difference is brought to the fore, which is a major problem in human relations even today, as we too often encounter it and treat it unequally and with reservations.
The message of the story is primarily to show people's intolerance of those who are different and their disregard for their rights, views, and opinions. The fairy tale aims to teach us to accept, and especially to appreciate, diversity.

We invite you to a performance at the Library at the Mouse's Book, performed by the Sevnica Castle Puppet Theatre. Suitable for children aged 4 to 8.
