Madeira - an island in the middle of the Atlantic, also called the pearl of the Atlantic, the island of eternal spring, the island of gardens, has been named the Best Island Destination in Europe 7 times since 2013, proving that those who visit it once, despite its small size, never get tired of it.
Today it is advertised as Madeira – an island for everyone:
Black sand beaches, slopes with lush vegetation and the largest subtropical laurel forest in the world, laurisilva, at least 1.8 million years old, easy trekking trails along the levadas, breathtaking views, one of the highest sea cliffs in the world, a lively and colorful market in the capital Funchal, sleigh rides, even though there is no snow, excellent and unique cuisine with island fortified wines, and numerous activities in the water and on land justify Madeira's latest tourism slogan.
We will also discover the somewhat isolated island of Porto Santo, which, compared to Madeira, has long golden sandy beaches and a drier climate, and where the most famous sailor, explorer and trader, Christopher Columbus, lived for a time.
Join To Tadej Strnad exploring the Madeira archipelago – you'll definitely want to experience it firsthand!
To make the gathering even more interesting, Tadej will ask you a prize question at the end. Among those who answer it correctly, we will draw a lucky winner of a backpack donated by the Orel Tourist Agency.
You can watch the lecture LIVE on University Facebook.
