Premiere of a comedy performed by the Petar Simoniti Amateur Theatre in Celje
Direction and set design: Peter Simoniti and Andrej Hribernik

Writer, playwright and academic Branislav Nušić (1864–1938) is still considered one of the most popular Serbian writers today. He studied law, was a journalist, playwright, theatre manager, politician and diplomat, and above all an extremely versatile writer. However, he earned his popularity primarily as a humorist and comedy writer, as his comedies expose the anomalies of the society and the times in which he lived, and he was particularly interested in power and money as triggers for individual actions. The comedy Analfabet summarizes and describes the current political scene, with a view of power from the perspective of the common man.
