Dušan Rutar is a doctor of psychology and a psychoanalyst. He has published several books on Freud, disability theory, critical psychology, the idea of communism, and is currently quite active as a columnist for the portal za-misli.si. He has also written several works on the theory of film narrative, touching on the work of various directors – from Almodovar to Tarkovsky. In the autumn lecture series entitled Psychoanalysis and Film, he will tackle film with the help of psychoanalysis and philosophy.

The film school is intended for everyone who wants to understand films and not just watch them. In this way, we want to contribute to the development of critical thinking when watching films and also when selecting this material in libraries, and thus encourage the use of literary and non-literary materials with a critical distance and value criteria. A good knowledge of literature is essential for understanding films, which is why the project also touches on the field of literary materials.
Lectures will be held every third Tuesday in the Music-Film department.
