Backpack. Worn-out shoes. And a pilgrim's certificate.

And trust in your own step and the favor of the universe.

What an interesting paradise this is!

Just walk, follow the signs, let yourself go PATHS and expect nothing.

So you return home rich.

Yes, that's why I'M GOING, again and again.

Hunting for yellow shells and arrows in the most beautiful country in the world – our homeland.

Because the path inspires with the picturesqueness of nature, connects people with courage, and liberates by retreating from the hustle and bustle. Entering Slovenian villages and towns on foot is a unique pleasure. Walking alone with your shadow is about getting to know yourself, putting aside fears, and strengthening your strength.

I invite you to walk with me through the living word and photographic story. SLOVENIAN JACQUES' WAY. I will introduce you to the Gorenjska, Primorska, Dolenjska and Predvorska branches. Your soles will itch, we have such a wonderful country! Walking for several days in your own company through your native land is an invaluable gift for the body, mind and soul.

ABOUT THE LECTURER:

Valerija Jakop prefers to explore new paths on foot; the mountains are her favorite place, where she breathes easiest. Years ago, she discovered the charm of long-distance walking on a three-week trek in the land of the highest mountains in the world, Nepal. Then, with her husband, she trudged through the hilly Spanish Asturias and Galicia all the way to the Atlantic, the end of the world, Cape Finistere and Muxia. When the world closed its doors in 2020, she opened the doors of her homeland wide: she stepped onto the Slovenian Way of St. James. She walked the Gorenjska, Primorska, Dolenjska and Predvorska branches, a five hundred kilometer long, very varied and difficult path in terms of altitude. Slovenia is a paradise for hiking souls, she says. It nourishes the eyes, heart and body. It fills with courage, optimism and satisfaction. It is beautiful to go, to be, to walk, to love yourself, to appreciate yourself, to let go, to let go, to let go, to free yourself, to learn. All this brings about collecting steps. It's nice to walk and come back! To yourself and always on the road again.
