LECTURER: Dr. Barbara Riman (Institute for Ethnic Issues), President of the Association of Slovenian Societies in Croatia

Barbara Riman was born in April 1981 in Rijeka. She enrolled in the Department of History and Croatian Language and Literature at the Faculty of Arts in Rijeka in the academic year 1999/2000. She graduated in 2005. She is active in the Slovenian community in Rijeka. She works as a member of the Council of the Slovenian National Minority of Primorje-Gorski Kotar County.
From 2003 to December 2005, she worked as a history teacher in primary schools in the Rijeka area. In January 2006, she was accepted as a young researcher in the project Slovenes in Istria, Kvarner and Gorski Kotar in the 20th Century by Dr. V. Kržišnik-Bukić at the Institute for Ethnic Issues in Ljubljana.
In October 2005, she enrolled in postgraduate studies at the Faculty of Arts in Ljubljana, Department of History, majoring in general and national history from the 18th century to the present day, under the mentors Prof. Dr. B. Repet and Dr. V. Kržišnik-Bukić.
