The Slovenian Birdwatching and Studying Society has published a comprehensive monograph on its 40th anniversary, which is of exceptional importance for Slovenian ornithology. The creation of the atlas, its use and special features will be presented Dr. Urša Koce, univ. dipl. biol., conservation ornithologist (DOPPS). She will reveal many interesting facts, such as: which nesting sites have recently been newly discovered in Slovenia, why we find the griffon vulture in the atlas, why the great horned owl has a different scale on the distribution map than other species... The field part of the book preparation alone lasted 15 years and involved 632 enumerators, which shows that it was a large project. The bird atlas will be available for purchase at a reduced price after the lecture. You are welcome!
