Ferdo is a bird. A giant bird. Too big for the environment in which he lives. But Ferdo doesn't even notice his difference, what's more, he uses it to his advantage to help those smaller than himself. He plasters chimneys, replaces cranes, works hard, and when he gets thirsty, he drinks from the lake... But when they run out of water, everyone quickly forgets the good deeds of the unusual black bird and Ferdo becomes exactly what he had never thought of before - different, outcast and lonely.
With a picture book that tells its story only through images, Andreja Peklar impressed the international jury at the Bologna Book Fair in 2015, who included Ferd among the nominees for the Silent Book Contest award. (taken from the Emka.si website)
