The 1990s. Like many young people from the Maghreb, Selim wants to leave sad Morocco and find his happiness in the glittering Paris. That is his Mecca. On the way, he will taste both honey and bitterness: honey in the embrace of Esther from the Basque capital, bitterness due to the unforgiving reality in the West. His story is described by three voices: a young Maghreb man, his girlfriend Esther and the most famous mughals of the 1990s. We get to know it in three different ways: in a first-person linear narrative, in a diary form and in the form of an interview.
The novel Grenak is composed of three voices, three narratives and one new and old story. From the pen of one of the most renowned Basque youth authors, Patxi Zubizarreta. (taken from the general page of Malinc Publishing House)
