Ten-year-old Mila loves animals – especially insects, and spiders the most. Peter is in fourth grade, but he looks like a first-grader who is afraid of everything. Katka has no friends besides books, and feels fat and ugly. Franta is confined to crutches because of his sore legs, and he is often angry and sometimes mean. When these children meet, they are not friends. Just “strange” children who happen to find themselves together. But soon their world is turned upside down.
Mila is unaware of her beauty and has no real place among her peers. But she can immerse herself in the clouds, birds and the rustling of trees for long hours. When she focuses on something, everything else ceases to exist for her. Peter really wanted a chinchilla, but when the animal accidentally landed with him, it "turned" into a monster at night. Peter's imagination draws the worst possible images in the dark, which his hand on paper can create into the most incredible drawings. Katka is convinced that she is ugly and fat, so she simply does not talk to people. She is only happy when she immerses herself in books. Franta has sore legs and has to walk with crutches. Because of his deprivation, he is angry and therefore often mean to people. He likes to record videos that he publishes on the Internet, especially with pleasure when he provokes others with them. Through a web of coincidences, these four children meet and start spending time together. When they recognize each other in their strangeness, they also touch each other. From these contacts, they begin to draw courage and strength for things that they would never otherwise undertake on their own. Ahead of them is an adventure that will change their lives.
