The latest novel (for teenagers, but no less for all other readers) by Suzana Tratnik reveals to us the life of sixteen-year-old Mija, her family and peers during the former Yugoslavia. Despite the fact that the time of the events is set in the writer's youth, the writing seems fresh, and the reader observes the hardships of growing up, family hardships, the search for identity and employment of young people, the search for happiness (the metaphor for her is tombola), as if they were happening here and now. The masterful structure of the story, which does not let the reader go until the last sentences, was articulated by Tratnik as a sensitive observer of life, as a "psychologist" who vividly illustrates the characters and decisions of literary characters. She also unwound the complex tangle of Mija's story in a truly masterful way. (taken from Bukla.si)
