Publisher about the book:
Manca's mother begins to behave strangely, becoming increasingly forgetful and misinterpreting events. An intruder creeps into the life of the extended family - Alzheimer's disease, dementia. Manca now has to take care of her increasingly frail parents more than before, which affects her family: her husband and growing daughters. Each one has to give up themselves for the good of the other. They are faced with the question of whether to put their parents in a nursing home. Although the illness is a severe trial, it does not break them, but rather strengthens their mutual bonds and their trust in God. Everything good they do out of love is returned to them.
The story, which is based on true events, realistically depicts how the relatives of a dementia patient cope with this serious illness. The Intruder in the Family delivers an important message about the meaning of suffering and the loving care of the elderly.
