Jamie lives in Dalton's Bay, Australia, with his Aunt Dawn and Uncle Bobby. In his free time, he hangs out with his friends Dally and Lenny. After they are attacked one night by a group of young white sportsmen, they finally have enough. As Indigenous Australians, they have long been victims of racial profiling, but this night is different; they decide to take revenge. Nothing goes according to plan and Jamie finds himself deep in the juvenile detention system. Will he be able to come to terms with himself and his past and move on to better times?
A powerful, realistic and compelling story about a young man from the margins of society, "a danger to his surroundings", who finds his way through the worst ordeal. The novel explores themes of racism, juvenile delinquency, the challenges of growing up and the importance of a loving and supportive community. (taken from the general page of Založba Miš)
