The story takes place in the mountains of Guerrero, Mexico. The lives of the people who still persist in the tropical forests, in addition to the very intense heat and humidity, are also threatened by deadly animals such as snakes, scorpions and iguanas. They are also threatened from the air, because instead of poppy fields, the authorities are mercilessly spraying settlements with dangerous pesticides. A young girl, Ladydi Garcia Martinez, lives with her mother in a modest home. They share their fate with only a small number of neighbors. The men have left to find work, and the women long for their love and return. They make it through each day with the horror of the kidnapping of minors. The fear of poverty and the violence of drug cartels, who are looking for young and beautiful girls, also determines the fate of the main character. All her few friends have already been forcibly torn from their environment and thrown into the hands of ruthless, but very rich gangs.
