The debut novel by the long-time translator of the excellent Finnish writer Arto Paasilinne is a pleasant refreshment in the field of Slovenian romance novels. The story presents two heroes in their mature years, both retired, who want something more from life. The widowed, temperamental Greek entrepreneur Spiros, once a great womanizer and lover, whose masculine power is slowly fading, and the emotional and in her soul much calmer divorced Finnish professor Aino, meet through e-mail correspondence. The intensity and sensuality of their conversations increase and leave the reader in constant anticipation. In the second part of the novel, the heroes meet in romantic Provence, where they want to spend some time together and get to know each other better. Their friendship is definitely more than either of them expected, it is full of new insights and experiences, as they perceive eroticism and love completely differently and because of this, the emotional and physical whirlwind goes on and on.
