A Moment in Another's Life is a memoir by French ballet dancer and choreographer Maurice Bejart (1927-2007). The autobiography was written in 1979, and this year we also saw its Slovenian translation. In the book, Bejart returns to his childhood and searches for and describes the circumstances and motivations that led him to the path of dance and shaped his career - the career of one of the greatest modern European ballet dancers and choreographers. It is an intimate story about growing up, fears, various loves and passions, about will, stubbornness, belonging and, of course, about music, dance steps and the glitter and misery of the stage spotlight. The author describes his entire childhood, youth and mature thinking honestly but humorously. He presents us with his relationship to God and spirituality, to his own physical and spiritual body, and vividly outlines the choreographies that he danced himself or wrote for others.
