Aleš Čar, who with each published book becomes more firmly established in the Slovenian literary scene, presents himself to us in his work “V okvari” with a collection of short stories. These stories, which tell of the relationship between a man and a woman, are insightful and provocative, often on the border of the unusual and special, just as real life can be. The heroes of the stories save themselves from chaos, which they sometimes succeed in, or sometimes not. The female characters suffer from childhood wounds, the men are most often “on the other side”. Despite the fact that each story is concluded separately, they have in common the intertwining of relationships, love, different emotions and eroticism. These are stories about love, one way or another, or as the author says “for me this remains a book about love”.
