In Your Desert is an exceptionally beautiful travelogue-style narrative. It is a story about a journey to one's essence, about longing for a lost person and an unforgettable desert. Above all, it is a confession, a thank you, a kind of farewell letter. For the author, this novel is a tribute to the person he traveled with. The story itself is very simple. A Portuguese journalist, reporter and photographer sets off by car on a journey through the Sahara with twenty-one-year-old Claudia, whom he met through his friends just before the journey. We are amazed by the extraordinary description of the relationship between the two strangers, who share a room, a tent, solve problems and are just getting to know each other during the journey. They are mainly united by the desire to discover the vast and incomprehensible desert, which connects them forever in a special way. Twenty years after their journey, the author decides to write a novel with which he deals with the abyss and emptiness within himself. With her memory, he tries to separate himself from her, stops longing for her, and dedicates her a dedication: "To Claudia up there, on a star above the Sahara."
