An event commemorating the centenary of the deaths of Zofka Kveder and Srečko Kosovel.

The Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Slovenia has declared this year the year of Zofka Kveder and Srečko Kosovel. The writer, playwright and poet are united not only by the anniversary of their death, but also by their uncompromising fight for a better world. Both were critical observers of society, both on the side of the oppressed and humiliated, both in their views ahead of the times in which they lived.

The literary-musical event will intertwine the texts of both: Kosovel's impressionistic, expressionistic and constructivist poems and excerpts from the letters and sketches of Zofka Kveder. The texts remain relevant, despite being written more than a hundred years ago. The selected compositions (rock and pop songs) enter into dialogue with the texts and comment on, complement or ironize them, thereby placing them even more in the present.

The event, which features students from Lava Gymnasium and guests from other schools of the Celje School Center, was prepared by Metka Jagodič Pogačar and Breda Marušič.
