NEW – English translation and reprint of the picture book Alma, the world on your doorstep

The Celje Central Library is pleased to announce that on November 24, 2025, it will be published English translation of the picture book Alma, the world on your doorstep and reprint of the Slovenian original popular picture books.

A picture book she wrote Mojiceja Bonte and illustrated Polona Kosec, in a picturesque, warm and child-friendly way, tells the story of Almi M. Karlin – Slovenian writer, polyglot and world traveler, who spent her childhood in Celje, and later traveled the world alone, writing about it for an international audience.

So far, the picture book has been published in Slovenian original and in translations into English, German and Esperanto.
Reprint of the Slovenian original and English translation they came out on the occasion Celje's hosting of the Slovenian Book Fair – as a tribute to the exceptional Celje woman and her rich cultural heritage.
