The Celje Central Library allows users of the Celje branch to use self-service book machines for borrowing and self-service book machines for returning materials. Materials can also be returned at the book machine outside of opening hours, but as a rule, they are returned during the Celje library's opening hours. The malfunctioning of the book machine for returning materials cannot be a reason for your complaints or claims.
Self-service book rental machines
They are intended for self-loan and extension of loan periods. You can find one in the children's department, and two at the main loan counter at the entrance. To use the self-loan machine correctly, log in to the loan program with your membership card or the generated barcode in the mCobiss application and log out after the loan is complete. Both are required for proper records.
How to borrow materials
After logging in with your membership card, you can load up to three copies onto the reader at once and see on the screen whether all titles have been printed. A successful loan is accompanied by characteristic sound signals. The device also sounds a warning sound if the transaction is unsuccessful.
If the loaded material has been successfully recorded, we remove it and load new selected titles onto the reading plate. Otherwise, we spread the material out a bit or arrange it differently; we will most likely be successful.
We repeat the process of placing and removing until we have registered everything we want to borrow for our home. At the end, we can simply complete the process, or we can print a receipt or send it by email.
Self-return book machine
This book machine was installed by the Celje library in the windbreak and is also accessible outside of library opening hours. It does not require a membership card to use. In one procedure, you can return materials that have been borrowed by various members of your family, friends, etc. The book machine does not allow for extensions of loan periods and does not display recorded library claims. You can get this information in the library's loan section, in My Library or at the book machines for self-borrowing materials.
Procedure for returning materials to the book vending machine
You can place one copy or one set at a time on the return conveyor belt (the set is marked with a special yellow sticker and must be complete when returned). Wait for the book machine door to open again and repeat the process until you have placed everything you intend to return.
If the machine returns the material to us, we try again, and if the problem persists, we return the material to the circulation desk. Before we close (leave), we make sure that the machine has accepted everything we wanted to return. Material that remains on the tape within reach is not returned and we remain responsible for it! We recommend that you always make sure that the procedure was successful.
Each return can be completed by printing a receipt.
What can't we return at the book machine?
The book machine does not accept very large, heavy, shiny or multi-type materials that the library has not assembled into a set, incomplete sets, magazines and other serial publications. We also do not return materials that we have received from other libraries through interlibrary loan to the book machine, as it only accepts and sorts materials that are the property of the Celje Library.
Materials that are not accepted by the book return machine can be returned by members at the lending desk or placed in the gray container next to the book return machine.
