Celje Central Library within the framework of the project "Innovative model of creating recognition of local history in the educational space" in collaboration with the Faculty of Commercial and Business Sciences and students from various faculties are invited to present results and guidelines for working with young people and schools.

The project is part of the Public Call for Proposals “Problem-based Learning of Students in the Working Environment: Economy, Non-Economy and Non-Profit Sector in the Local/Regional Environment 2024-2027 (PUŠ in the Working Environment 2024-2027)” 2nd opening. As part of the project, a comprehensive treatment of the field of local history was prepared and two surveys were conducted: a survey of the recognition of local history among young people and a survey of existing practices of cooperation between libraries and primary and secondary schools in the field of local history. Based on the findings, guidelines were created for libraries for working with young people and schools, and a model of cooperation between libraries and educational institutions was developed for more efficient and systematic promotion of local history materials.

At the event, which will take place on Friday, 12. 6. 2026, at 2:00 p.m., in the Dictionary of the Central Library of Celje, we will present key research findings, prepared guidelines and a collaboration model that offers libraries concrete tools for strengthening local history activities and connecting with young people and the school environment.

You are also invited to follow Remote roundtable (Zoom) 12. 6. at 5:30 PM, where students and employees participating in the project will discuss the results of the project and the possibilities of promoting local history among young people.
