Alenka Veber, univ. dipl. soci. dol., is the author of several hundred popular articles on Slovenian cultural and natural heritage, and above all, she is an amateur ethnologist, photographer and tourist guide, mentor of study groups and lecturer. In the year of publication (2018) of her first book of spiritual thoughts Kolo sreče. 67 babjepolskih iveri, after 35 years of homesickness and 30 years of living and working in Ljubljana, she decided to return home permanently and devote herself entirely to the work at the institute she founded in 2011. Alenka's return home and independent entrepreneurial path were greatly affected by covid-19 and her mother's Alzheimer's vascular dementia. Between 2018 and 2022, Alenka lived at Rihtarjeva domačija with her sick mother. Since 2019, the headquarters of the Rihtarjeva domačija Institute, which she runs, has also been a dementia-friendly spot.
