Antica Marijanac was born in 1936 in the small village of Novi Kot in the municipality of Loški Potok. She really wanted to become a teacher, so after finishing junior high school in Stari trg near Ložu, she went to a teacher training college in Ljubljana. In 1958, she was sent to her first job at the elementary school in Spodnji Log near Kočevje, where she realized that her education for life had only just begun. Later, her life's journey took her to the town of Dravograd, and from there to the Gorenjska region in Kranj, where she retired.
She has lived in Brežice for many years. Her first poems began to appear while still at the teacher training college. She was a member of the literary society "Žarek" in Brežice, and is currently working in the literary section of the society "Franc Bogovič" in Dobova. In 2005, she published a book of childhood memories entitled Anci, ti presneti mulc and a poetry collection "Kdo gre z nami".
