Conversations with Celje players
March 11, 2015 at 5 p.m.
In March, Mateja Žvižej will be joined in a pleasant chat by a member of the acting ensemble of the Slovenian Folk Theatre Celje Bojan Umek.
Bojan Umek was born in Brežice, attended elementary school in Krško, high school in Brežice, and then graduated from the AGRFT in Ljubljana.
He joined the Celje Theatre Ensemble in 1984 and, with a series of excellently played dramatic characters, became one of the core members of the ensemble. According to director Vinko Möderndorfer, he is an actor known for his meticulous study of roles and his investigative spirit, with which he is able to give his characters very expressive features and leave a deep impression on the audience.
He is also distinguished by his good singing skills, which give his playing additional dimensions when needed.
For the series of excellent roles he performed during his thirty-year acting career in Celje, he received the silver coat of arms of the City Municipality of Celje in 2006.
