Lila Prap and Bori Zupančič

On November 20, we celebrate our day as public libraries. On this occasion, we invited the renowned artist Lilijana Praprotnik Zupančič, better known as Lila Prap, to the Celje Central Library. She writes and illustrates picture books for children. Animals play a major role in her stories, because as she says, "... animals represent a world of authenticity, of primal instincts to children. Like children, they are unencumbered by the thinking, moral codes and problems of adults." The picture books have been translated into many different languages. The children of Celje are also enthusiastic about them, as Lilijana's books are among the most borrowed children's books in the Celje library.
This year, Lila Prap also designed the main character of the Library at Miško Knjižku – the learned dog Miško Knjižku, who greets the youngest visitors of our library from all sides in the children's section and inspires them to read and learn about the world in which they live.
Joining the chatty evening with "our" Lila will be her husband Dalibor Bori Zupančič, known to the Celje public as an excellent caricaturist and singer-songwriter. He will enrich the evening with his songs, which will be sweetened with sweet surprises.
