You are invited to a follow-up workshop - recycled jeans, which is intended for young people aged 15-20.
Learning to hand sew from waste jeans is an activity that revives traditional knowledge and is at the same time a counterbalance to hyperproduction, the cheapness of things that are easily thrown away. By using used jeans, we not only take care of the environment, but by reusing them, we breathe uniqueness into the product. Shared learning and generational transfer of knowledge were once key, not only for transferring skills, but also for strengthening mutual relationships. The workshop within the project is designed to introduce basic materials and basic hand sewing techniques.
Participants bring their own used jeans.
The workshop is led by Lucija Posinek.
Two books will also be presented at the workshop: The Power of Textiles: A Handbook on the Beneficial Effects of Creation and Say jeans design.
Mandatory registrations on lucija.posinek@knjiznica-celje.si.
