Fabula concluded its main festival events in March, but some stories remain in the city long after the last conversations have died down. On Thursday, May 21, at 5 pm, we invite you to the event Fabula po Fabula at the Union Cinema (Mali Union), an echo of this year's festival and an encounter with its visible, written and tangible traces.

The evening will open with a screening of a short film Ox Maló – Fabula's City Clerk: Literary Portraits of Celje, which looks back at the project of the city scribe. During the festival, he traveled around the city center, meeting people in everyday and festival moments, and using a typewriter to create their literary portraits — tiny records of meetings and the city that momentarily turned into text. After the screening, participants in the Literary Portraits of Celje project will be able to receive their poem, which was part of the Ox Maló exhibition.

Since this year's Fabula was not only written in words, but also in images, materials and touch, the film memory will be followed by a look between the covers. We will announce the winning Fabula book cover 2026, created in collaboration with the High School for Service Activities and Logistics Celje and the Celje School Center, and present the realized winning cover from 2025. Project Between the covers invited young artists to reflect on the book as an object, memory, and touch — as a space where literature, design, textiles, and manual skill met in a useful artistic object.

Visitors will be able to receive their own book cover at the event and take home a material echo of this year's Fabula.
