On Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at 6 p.m. We invite you to the opening of an exhibition of illustrations for Prešeren's Sonnet Wreath by Miha Maleš, which will be held at the Vojnik Library.

The organizers of the exhibition are the Maleš Gallery Cultural Association from Zgornja Rečica, the Globoče Tourist Cultural Association and the Vojnik Library.

Painter and graphic artist Miha Maleš (1903 – 1987) is considered an important visual artist and representative of cultural life between the two wars. He was particularly intensively involved with our poetic genius, Dr. France Prešeren. The prints for The Sonnet Wreath represent one of the highlights of Maleš's visual work.

In the illustrations for Sonnetni venac, Maleš most beautifully captured the poetics of Prešeren's poetry and are equal to Prešeren's virtuoso poetry.
