The Wisdom of the Bhagavad Gita and Paramahamsa Vishwananda
The guest will spice up the lecture by singing two Indian mantras in Sanskrit accompanied by a harmonium that she also plays, followed by the lecture.
We are all seekers of happiness, love, and self-confidence. But most of us, despite our search, fail to find these values and consequently drown in fleeting forms of material happiness. These bring short-term pleasures with long-term intervals of suffering.
Who wants the kind of happiness or love that ends in bitterness and is most often tainted with it beforehand? Has it ever happened to you that you fell in love, maybe even got married, but the happiness soon faded away, as if it had never existed? Have you ever bought the latest or most beautiful model of something, and over time it became commonplace or even outdated? If the nature of things is not eternal, it cannot be called happiness or love.
We invite you to take a look at what the most widely read scripture of Hinduism, the Bhagavad Gita, has to say about happiness and love. It gives us answers not only about what happiness is, but also how to find our true divine potential and experience lasting forms of fulfillment. It answers the questions of who I am, what is my source, and what is the purpose of life.
