Poetry collection Believe, believe through subtle metaphors and picturesque images, he invites you into a world imbued with love for women and the Pannonian landscape. Feri Lainšček's poetry is recognizable for its love lyrics, for its troubadour-like hymn to love for women, which often imperceptibly and quite naturally flows into love for the world, especially the Pannonian landscape, Prekmurje, which is of course ruled by the misty Mura River. And this collection is also like that – Lainšček's rhythmic, singing poetics, full of subtle metaphors and picturesque images, is one of the rare contemporary poetics that still manages to address readers of all generations without any difficulty. His poetry is therefore a special and exceptional phenomenon in the Slovenian space, educating generations of readers in a different, more subtle perception of the world, as only excellent poetry can do.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

Feri Lainšček (1959) is a writer, poet, playwright and screenwriter. He has written more than a hundred literary works, which are marked by the Prekmurje region and its people. He became famous for his novels for adults and poetry. His poetry collection Don't be like others. (2007) quickly became a bestseller, and some of the novels were made into feature films (Halgato, Rooster's breakfast). He has also established himself in the field of youth literature, short prose, radio and puppet plays, film scripts and as a writer of folk songs and chansons. He also wrote a script in Prekmurje for a documentary film about Porabje and several narrative, poetic and dramatic works for children. He has received numerous awards and recognitions for his literary work, including two Kresnik awards for the best Slovenian novel of the year (In whose place does a flower bloom, Murišai?) and the Prešeren Fund Prize for the novel Which the fog brought.
