An exhibition of photographs from the photo competition entitled "People with Nature, Nature for People" will be on display at the Celje Central Library from 2 February 2015 to 10 March 2015. The photo competition was organised by the Slovenian Institute for Nature Conservation together with the Delo Ona and Onaplus publications. It was held as part of the LIFE SI Natura 2000 Management project (LIFE 11NAT/SI/880), which is led by the Ministry of the Environment and Spatial Planning. With the competition, in which 107 authors participated with more than 300 photographs, we wanted to contribute to a better recognition of the relationship between humans and nature, their coexistence and mutual prosperity.

Nature is an invaluable asset, for the protection of which we all must contribute. Preserved nature is the basic capital of an area, region, or country. We can confidently say that preserved nature is Slovenia's strong capital, as well as our strong development opportunity. As a society, we have already recognized the advantages that nature gives us and recognized the importance of efforts to preserve nature. From these realizations come efforts to preserve the nature around us and protect all forms of life. Sustainable treatment of nature is also dictated by the guidelines of the European Union, such as the definition of Natura 2000 areas. Only by preserving nature will it return its favors to us and thus we will be "people with nature and nature for people."

The exhibition opening with a lecture on wetlands will take place in the Study Reading Room.
