On the occasion of the Slovenian Cultural Day, we set up an exhibition on the ground floor of the library A mosaic of silence.
Mosaic of Silence are the writings and poems of three deaf and hard of hearing authors Irene Blazinšek, Zdenka Jagodič and Frančiška Kanjir, who are led by a mentor Katje Gorecan participated in poetry workshops under the auspices of Association of people with hearing impairments of the Celje region.
The basic starting point of the creative writing workshops was to feel and experience what it is like to live with hearing impairment in various forms - from mild deafness to complete silence. The exhibition is complemented by illustrations by 3rd year art students at Celje-Center Gymnasium, who created under the mentorship of professors. Maya Cancer and Andreja Džakušič.
The authors will also present their writings live at the closing of the exhibition, when we in the Levstik Hall organized a literary evening, which will be coordinated by Katja Gorečan. We will meet on Monday, March 14, at 5:30 p.m.
The hall is equipped with a hearing inductive loop.
