A new web portal went live at the end of June Faces of Slovenian landscapes. The portal is an online biographical lexicon of famous personalities from Slovenian regions and Slovenians abroad and around the world. It combines biographies published in regional lexicons: Celjskozasavski.si, Dolenjski biografski leksikon, Gorenjci.si, Koroški biografski leksikon, Pomurci.si, Primorci.si, Spodnjepodravci.si and Štajerci.si. The portal is managed by the Kranj City Library in cooperation with Slovenia's central regional public libraries. 

The portal includes biographies of personalities who were born in a particular region or in the surrounding area, lived and/or studied there, and above all, who significantly marked their environment with their work in any field: writers, poets, literary and art historians and critics, journalists, painters, musicians, architects, actors, priests, scientists, researchers, professors, teachers, businessmen, politicians, athletes, etc.

The online biographical lexicon is created on an ongoing basis and is supplemented with information about famous figures from history and the present every day, so its content is never final.

The project is co-financed by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Slovenia.
