Lev Kodre, Anej Firšt and Lenart Kač, aspiring young researchers from the Fran Kranjec Elementary School in Celje, investigated the "Apnenik" limestone quarry from Pečovnik near Celje and its associated quarry. They shed light on the history of the company, examined the owners and its current deteriorating image. They collected available sources and literature in archives and libraries, interpreted them and arranged them in chronological order. They used newspaper articles, online sources and conducted several interviews. They obtained many audiovisual sources with the help of which they explained the working process "from stone to lime." Their research received a gold award in the field of history at the national meeting of young researchers in Murska Sobota.
