The pandemic of the new coronavirus disease, which has marked our everyday lives for a year and has robbed many of their normal lives, and many have lost their lives, has, on the other hand, brought about leaps and bounds in some areas of science.

Among other things, in record time at the end of last year, we received the first vaccines against this disease, some of which are based on technologies that medicine has not yet known in practice.

The astonishing speed, the abundance of misinformation and conspiracy theories, and the lack of basic knowledge are raising unjustified concerns about the safety of vaccination in many people.

That's why we invited two top experts to join us, who will arm us with knowledge and bring us closer to the science that led to the development of new vaccines on a popular and professional level.

Assistant Professor GREGOR GUNČAR, PhD from the Department of Biochemistry at the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology, University of Ljubljana, will present the mechanisms of action of available vaccines against COVID-19.

MIHA SIMONITI, MD, specialist in infectology from Celje General Hospital will shed light on the medical dimensions of the epidemic and, based on concrete results after the first month of vaccination, will speak about the importance and safety of vaccination.
