Lecture on the occasion of the Slovenian cultural holiday and at the exhibition NEIGHBORS SLOVENIANS – SLOVENIANS IN CROATIA (1886-1991).

Dr. Marijan Dović, senior research fellow at the Institute of Slovenian Literature and Literary Studies of the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts and an associate professor at the University of Nova Gorica, deals with the literary canon, the theory of evaluation, the systemic theory of literature, research on the author and authorship, the Romantic period and the problem of national poets in the context of cultural nationalism, and the theory and history of interwar avant-garde movements in Slovenia and the Balkans. In his first scientific monograph, Systematic and empirical literature reviews (2004), he critically presented the systemic paradigm of literary scholarship. In his extensive work Slovenian writer: The development of the role of the literary producer in the Slovenian literary system (2007) has already successfully tested its methodology in a historical-sociological analysis of the development of the role of writers in Slovenia from the 18th to the 21st century. He has also written a monograph on Anton Podbevšek and the Slovenian historical avant-garde. He has conceived and led several domestic and international conferences and edited a number of proceedings.
