Dr. Vito Hazler

On Monday, November 9, at 5:30 PM, we will meet with ethnologist and art historian Dr. Vito HAZLER, Assoc. Prof. at the Department of Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology, Faculty of Arts, University of Ljubljana. On St. Martin's Day, he will talk to us about the saints who 'give us the wine of September'.
Wine is, according to connoisseurs and its lovers, one of the most revered drinks invented by human civilization; people are born and die with wine, toasts are made with it at celebrations, acquaintances are made, deals are made, and it is also firmly embedded in some secular and secular rituals. Through the lecture WINE SAINTS - PATRONS OF THE WINE HARVEST AND WINE, we will learn about the meaning and influence of wine saints.
In addition to the most famous, St. Martin, many others are 'in charge' of tasks related to the vine throughout the year; from St. Vincent in January to St. John in December. Around 350 churches in Slovenia are dedicated to them.
