Members of the University for the Third Age are invited to a travelogue lecture by Milenko Roš entitled New Zealand.
About the lecturer: He was born in Celje, on February 5, 1947. He is a chemist by profession, a doctor of chemical sciences, and a full professor in the field of Water Pollution and Protection. He was a researcher at the Faculty of Chemistry for almost 40 years, of which he was the head of the Laboratory for Chemistry, Biology and Water Technology for 25 years. He retired in 2009, but still lectures at the College of Environmental Protection in Velenje and the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Maribor. He has written a number of professional books in the field of wastewater treatment. He has been involved in photography since the age of 11, which is why many photographs appear in his lectures.
Brief description of the lecture: Milenko Roš has been to New Zealand eleven times, where he spent a considerable amount of time traveling around the country. In the lecture, he will first shed light on the formation of New Zealand and compare the country with Slovenia. He will then present the characteristics of New Zealand and describe his travels around the North and South Islands of the country. In addition to individual places, he also visited some characteristic islands that made a special impression on him. He traveled around New Zealand by bus, car, ship and plane, and part of it he walked, which is why the trips are also presented from this perspective. Since tourism in New Zealand is at an extremely high level, the lecturer also experienced things that he would not have been able to do in some other countries.
