Vladimir Kavčič, whose artistic name is Jean Vodaine, is one of the most unique figures in 20th-century art.
He was born in 1921 in Čiginje, from where his family moved to Lorraine, France, due to fascist pressure. There he began to earn a living as a manual laborer and artist, later he lived only from his creations. He was a poet, painter, publisher, printer, translator and typographer. The crowning glory of his vast oeuvre is the long-standing publication of the international literary magazine Dire. His unique character, the quality of his artistic works and his identity (Slovene by blood, Italian by passport, French by place of residence, Lorraine and European by soul) are the reasons why it is worth learning more about this man.
About the great creator will be on Youtube channel our old acquaintance Urh Ferlež spoke.
You are cordially invited!
