Heart disease is one of the leading causes of premature death. At the third lecture of the year, which we are organizing in collaboration with the DVE Society, we will talk about pacemaker implantation.

A pacemaker is used to treat heart rhythm disorders, especially when the heart rate is too slow. In such cases, the heart cannot provide sufficient blood flow to the body, which is felt as fatigue, shortness of breath, dizziness. A significant rhythm disorder can also cause loss of consciousness and death. A pacemaker can relieve symptoms of a slow heart rate, such as fatigue and dizziness, and thus help you live a more active life.

Dr. Rafael Skale from Celje General Hospital will tell us more about the surgery itself, recovery and lifestyle after pacemaker insertion. The lecture will take place on Thursday, March 31, at 6 p.m. in the Study Reading Room.

Registration is not required, but a protective mask is mandatory.
