The story of three heroes – Vlad, Vuk and Plamen is approaching its climax. Even their courage and warrior skills cannot guarantee that they will escape the bloody whirlwind of war. Will the great commander of the Slavic army, Ognjen, help the sons? The fates of the steppe princess Širaz, Valuk's brave sister Zora, the resourceful Živa and her daughter Miluša all too often depend on the sharpness of the sword. Can their wishes to survive and meet their loved ones again come true? Is the only true conclusion the one that historian Miha Pohar writes at the end of the afterword: "goodbye in the next war!"
Dom is the fifth and final part of the historical saga The Fire Three by Igor Karlovšek, and we have previously met the heroes of the collection in The Fire Tribe. The tense adventure novel takes place during the settlement of the Slavs in the area of present-day Slovenia, before the formation of the Samoan tribal union and the principality of Carantania. Historical facts (the novel is also accompanied by a foreword by historian Miha Pohar) are intertwined with a story about growing up, (first) love, finding one's place in the world and the struggle for survival.
