Echo Ridge is a small American town. Ellery has never been there, but she has heard a lot about it. Five years ago, the town became infamous for the murder of a high school prom queen. Even before that, twenty-four years ago, her aunt mysteriously disappeared from there. Now Ellery and her twin brother must move to Echo Ridge, their mother's birthplace, and live with a grandmother they barely know.
The town may be perfect on the outside, but it's hiding secrets. And before the new school year even begins, someone declares open prom queen season once again. The threats are clearly serious, as one of the girls goes missing.
