This book about books depicts an author who – in his own words – clings to reading in his old age. He thus unfolds before us a list of books that he has not yet read, but has a firm intention to start reading. The narrative thus jumps from book to book, from author to author, and at the same time to the desire that the author himself would write something more. When he finally starts reading, he is distracted by books that have parts underlined. Then, while reading, he is distracted by dedications in books and at the same time by the desire to deal with dedications in his future book. In order to research them properly and collect a sufficient number, he goes to an antiquarian bookshop, but there he bitterly discovers that many years ago, he himself wrote the worst, stupidest, and most sweet dedication.
