The series about the adventures of the Moomins and their guests by the Finnish writer and painter Tove Jansson is considered one of the fundamental works of world youth fiction. In 2014, on the centenary of Tove Jansson's birth, the book The Comet is Coming was published, last year her first book Moomins and the Great Flood was published (published in Swedish in 1945), and this year we will read Moomin Memories (the book was first published in 1950, and a revised edition in 1968). Moomin wrote his incredible and astonishing autobiography - he tells his story to Moomin and his friends. Moomins are cute fairy-tale creatures, a kind of trolls. At first glance, they look like miniature hippos, with white fur coats, large snouts and tails with a tuft at the end. Even though the Moomins are over seventy years old, they are still charming and can appeal to today's children. (Taken from the website of the publishing house Mladinska knjiga)
